2009-10 Board Members

President, Lisa Johnson

Presides at all meetings of the Club. Appoints chairwomen of special interest committees that she deems necessary. Serves as ex-officio member of all committees, except the Board Selection Committee. Pays bills approved by the Executive Committee in the absence of the Treasurer.

Programs, Camille Solbrig & Catherine Amon

Arranges programs for monthly general meetings.

Membership, Paula (PB) Baraket & Jen Wujciga

Generates and maintains the membership roster. Obtains names of new residents and invites them to participate in the Club's activities. Organizes new-member gatherings.

Publicity, Lisa Calderone

Coordinates announcements and stories of Newcomers events for the local newspapers. Maintains the Newcomers Club website.

Treasurer, Sara Trotter

Accounts for the Club's funds.

Community Service, Martha McKeon and Janine Townes

Organizes and coordinates all aspects of both the Meals-on-Wheels programs and commitments to the Branford Soup Kitchen.

Recording Secretary, Tanya Alves

Records and distributes minutes from General meetings and Board meetings.

Civic Special Programs, Christine Nizolek & Diane Kowalski

Organizes and coordinates any special community event in which Newcomers' Club participates, including the Thanksgiving Food Drive, Christmas Toy Drive and the Adopt-a-Family program. This position also makes recommendations regarding the disbursement of funds for charities or for community projects.

Newsletter Editor (Corresponding Secretary), Maura Mongelli

Publishes the Club's monthly newsletter, The Greeter. Prepares the ballot for elections and prints all forms for Club activities.

Social, Diane Naimey, Mary Ann Melrose & Kathy Flora

Plans and implements all social activities for the Club.

Communications, Elisa Pitoniak

Coordinates the completion of the Newcomers Telephone Directory. Contacts members of the Club via phone or e-mail when necessary.

Special Interest Groups, Clara Davidson

Coordinates special interest groups, such as Playgroups, Bunco, etc.

Hospitality, Nuria Castello

Coordinates the refreshments at the general meetings.

Historian, Becca Ferrebee

Makes a scrapbook chronicling activities for the Newcomers Club each year.
