Community Service
Help the community by giving a little of your time to one or all of the wonderful projects, including the Thanksgiving Food Drive, Holiday Toy Drive, and Adopt-a-Family Program.
Community Dining Room
Join us to help this very worthy cause by volunteering to serve meals at this Branford soup kitchen.
Meals on Wheels
Join us to deliver meals to grateful individuals in our community.
Community Clothing Bank
Please bring your new or used clothing, linens and blanket donations to the next General Meeting and they will be distributed to the center in Branford. You can also donate personal care items such as shampoo, soap, disposable razors, toothpaste, toothbrushes, dental floss, diapers, formula and sanitary products.
Adopt-A-Family
We shop for gifts for a family in need, wrap the gifts and deliver them to the Community Center just before Christmas.
Thanksgiving Food Drive
We purchase food using monetary donations and donated Big Y coins from our Newcomers group. We then deliver the food to the VFW for distribution just before Thanksgiving. The members of Newcomers also bring in non-perishable food to the Club's General meeting, which we deliver to the VFW.
Donations to Local Non-Profit Organizations
At the end of each program year, the Club donates the bulk of our funds to worthy organizations in our area. Over the years, we have donated funds to the following organizations:
- Women Family Life Center
- The Cove
- Guilford Food Bank
- Holiday Toy Drive with the Dept. of Social
- Schlorship to a Guilford High School Senior.
