Special Interest Groups are a great way to meet other women new to Guilford in a small-group setting. For information on a specific group, click one of the links below. If you'd like to create a group, contact Shelia Shay.

Breakfast Club
Get acquainted with a group of newcomers in a relaxed atmosphere while sipping coffee, tea and/or enjoying morning cuisine at a designated locale.

Bunco
Join the fun in a carefree, easy-to-learn dice throwing game. It's a great excuse to socilaize and have a night out with the girls.

Civic-Community Service
Help the community in several meaningful ways, through Meals-on-Wheels, The Community Dining Room, and Clothing Bank collections.

Civic-Special Programs
Help the community by giving a little of your time to one or all of the wonderful projects, including the Thanksgiving Food Drive, Holiday Toy Drive, and Adopt-a-Family Program.

Couples Yoga

Dinner Club
Members gather in dinner groups at a host's house. Each participant prepares a course of an assigned menu for the evening. This is a great way for couples to meet new friends while sampling delicious cuisine.

Jovial Joggers
Where you are an avid runner or someone who wants to jog at a "turtle pace" while chatting, this group is for you. Runs are organized based on jogger's perferences, i.e. w/ or w/out strollers, fast/slow, am/pm.

Ladies Lunch Out
Get acquainted with a group of newcomers in a relaxed atmoshphere while trying some local restaurants.

Lunch Bunch
Meet at member's home to share a delicious potluck lunch and wonderful conversation.

Men's Night Out
Men gather at a local "watering hole" to partake in drinks, food, and "manly" converstaion.

Playgroups
Get together weekly withthe same set of moms and their children, which are grouped together based on age.

Working Moms Playgroups
Working Mom now have the opportunity to socialize and bond with other working moms while their kids play and make new friends. We will meet on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month from 11-12. Contact Lisa Johnson at 203-453-9008.

Wine Tasting...with a Twist
Attendees bring two bottles of the same wine to compete in a wine-tasting contest or one bottle of wine and an appetizer. Each quest votes on their favorite bottle and the winner of the contest is teh guest who brought that particular bottle.

Working Girls
If you are working in or out of the home, are between jobs and looking for inspiration, are a full-time mom hoping to stay connected, or would just like to meet new people from all walks of life, you'll have fun with Working Girls. Sunshine Committee

As many Newcomer members do not have family nearby, the Sunshine club will provide "sunshine" to members, in the form of cards, meals, or assistance that provide cheer when the need arises, due to illness, a new baby, or a crisis in the family, for instance.
