Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

Special Interest Groups are a great way to meet other women new to Guilford in a small-group setting. Scroll down to see what members are heading up this year. If you'd like to create a new group, just contact Clara Davidson at 533-5698. We love to have new activities for the Club!

Bunco Join the fun in a carefree, easy-to-learn dice throwing game. It's a great excuse to socilaize and have a night out with the girls. Contact: Melissa Lamoreaux, 458-0857

Community Service Help the community in several meaningful ways, through Meals-on-Wheels, The Community Dining Room, and Clothing Bank collections. Contact: Martha McKeon, 533-5450 and Janine Townes, 458-1111

Civic - Special Programs Help the community by giving a little of your time to one or all of the wonderful projects, including the Thanksgiving Food Drive, Holiday Toy Drive, and Adopt-a-Family Program. Contact: Christine Nizolek & Diane Kowalski, 533-5535

Playgroups Get together weekly withthe same set of moms and their children, which are grouped together based on age. Contact: Clara Davidson, 533-5698

Book Club Meet in a member's home to discuss selected books and other topics. Contact: PB Baraket, 458-2007 and Catherine Amon, 533-5690

Wine Tasting Attendees bring two bottles of the same wine to compete in a wine-tasting contest or one bottle of wine and an appetizer. Each quest votes on their favorite bottle and the winner of the contest is teh guest who brought that particular bottle. Contact: Clara Davidson, 533-5698 and Diane Naimey, 203-494-7585

Ladies Night Out Take a break from it all once a month for Ladies Night Out. Everyone — empty nesters, moms, singles — can use an evening of great food, drinks and new friends. This is a great way to get acquainted in a relaxed atmosphere. Contact: Diane Naimey, 203-494-7585

Crafts Calling all Crafters! Are you a quilter? Knitter? Scrapbooker? All of the above? Have you been itching to learn a new technique and get your creative juices flowing? Just want to get out of the house and socialize with some great women? Then please join the NEW Crafters Special Interest Group! Once a month we’ll meet at different members’ houses (or some other local, crafty place!) to have fun for a few hours, get new ideas, and work on various craft projects.
